Let’s BUILD!

Things are in chaos. Coronavirus is a formidable enemy.
So, how can I say “Let’s Build”?
Well, what other choice is there?
None.
Who needs help?
Doctors, nurses and all the health care workers.
If we help them, they can help the rest of us.
It’s really that simple.
They need:
Masks, ventilators, beds, gloves, etc.
I don’t have all the answers, nor does anyone.
However, we cannot dawdle and delay. Every day counts.
Towards that end, we can focus our attention and efforts on 3 things:
1. Helping the Builders
2. Bolstering the Temporary Supply Chain
3. Helping the Permanent Supply Chain
1. Helping the Builders: IDEAS
Field calls and help people; be available, reduce friction. I am doing this as much as possible, every little bit is positive movement.
Find the builders: call around, ask around.
Fund the builders: Kickstarter, donate time.
Encourage the builders…if you can’t help, don’t assume it cannot be done.
2. Bolstering the Temporary Supply Chain: IDEAS
Be responsive when people call for help: time is of the essence.
3D printing…who has printers that can be used?
“Arts and crafts” time: sewing masks works great…distribute the work.
Connect with doctors and hospitals in your area.
3. Helping the Permanent Supply Chain: IDEAS
Your factory: can it be used to help? Ask the process experts, what can they do?
Can you help build machines that will make masks or ventilators?
Can your people help staff another operation to produce needed supplies?
All ideas are welcome: develop your own proposals.
My main learning is that this is not a time to be on the sidelines. We need to be “on the field”, helping in whatever way we can. Small and large efforts both move us towards the end zone.
CHALLENGE TO READERS
Masks, ventilators, beds, gloves, etc. are NEEDED URGENTLY.
This is a time to “make your mark” and contribute, in any way conceivable.
This is not a time to be shy or be concerned about perfection.
How can you and/or your organization help?
What is your local situation? What organizations can you partner with to increase your leverage?
MPES Consulting will assist these building efforts in any way possible. Please reach out to us; we are here if you need us. If you email us or call/text us at 508-410-8081, we will get back to you within 90 minutes. Thanks!
All the Best,
Marty
